Cigtronica ( Leader and supplier of electronic cigarettes) :
Cigtronica Ltd is an electronic cigarette manufacturer and retailer based in Salford. Created in 2012, the company quickly expanded from the opening of its first shop in Bolton, it has now four shops, and develops its activity as manufacturer and wholesaler. As the company wished to expand its business it has been critical to abandon its management using Excel spreadsheets, to get a real information system, such as an ERP.
An ERP allows a business to gather all its data in one unique information system. The result is a better communication flow within the company and its stakeholders which links to an improvement of company’s processes and operations, a reduced risk of errors, and an increased productivity.
When looking for a solution, it has been clear that mainstream solutions, such as SAP, were not fitted to the needs of a small company. Cigtronica was looking for a cost-effective solution that enables to grow, and being flexible enough to support their specific needs. Cigtronica chose the Open source solution edited by Openbravo, and selected Kailao Consulting to implement this solution at an affordable price.
Kailao Consulting developed the ERP project side by side with Cigtronica. From the basic needs of Cigtronica including the management of orders, customers, products, and price lists, Kailao Consulting then integrated modules to control the shipping cost, and the cost of sourcing goods. At a later stage, Kailao Consulting developed a B2B website, which will be essential to grow Cigtronica’s wholesaler activity. Cigtronica’s managing director, Mr. Wong, estimates the project has been held professionally by Kailao Consulting, thanks to the responsiveness of both functional consultant and technical manager, and their support offered to Cigtronica’s team after the implementation.
The new solution improved Cigtronica’s processes, and allows the company to achieve its business objectives. Openbravo helps Cigtronica to increase its margin thanks to the report generation that gives sufficient data to identify problems, like an important stock, or a low selling price.
